There are moments when I just need to isolate myself from the world around me and just focus on my breathing. I inhale and exhale until my mind stops whirling with thoughts and I just think of calming things. Being a social introvert is quite difficult because you don't want to be alone, but you feel drained by others when you spend too much time with them. It's not their fault, you just can't handle so much in one go. It's when my breath quickens or my palms start shaking that I know I need to find a quiet and dark corner to be alone.
